Meet the Mushers!

Before the race begins we need to meet the mushers! Each of you will use this link to research a musher and choose who you think will be this years winner. You have to read through their biographies in order to make this decision. Once you know who you want I will have you sign up to conference with me!

Put on Your Booties 305!

It's time for the 2017 Iditarod race in Alaska! Time to dress warm and get ready to spend the next 9 to 12 days running your heart out! 305 will be tracking and following the race coverage.

We will be doing many exciting race activities. Aslo, we will be reading Stone Fox and many other great books about sled dogs and the Iditarod race itself.

There are 2 race routes from Anchorage to Nome. The north route is ran on years that are even and the southern route is ran on odd years. This gives more villages along the routes an opportunity to be a part of this great race. Since this year is an odd year the racers will be following the Southern Route! The race route is over 1,000 miles. That would be like driving to Rapid City 4 TIMES! The race begins Saturday so stay tuned for more updates!
